XAMPP Control Panel #
Since you only installed Apache that is the only module available. Apache will always need to be running for the Vidiot program to work correctly. To start Apache press ‘Start’.
Windows Firewall #
You will probably get a Windows Firewall warning when you first try to run Apache. Allow Apache to communicate on private networks only. You will only access Apache from your local network so there is no need to allow public networks.
Test Apache #
Open any browser and type ‘localhost’ into the address bar. If you see the “Apache Friends” dashboard you have installed Apache successfully. I recommend using Firefox or Chrome for a browser. The Vidiot program is not tested on other browsers.
